About

Fiction writing

Currently, I’m mostly doing a weekly serialisation of my twisted, funny retro murder mystery based loosely on my childhood, told through the medium of the 1980s village newsletter. You can start here, on the contents page.

There are other bits and bobs on another Substack, Stubsack Fiction. See what I did there? It includes a bunch of 100-word micro fictions, some memoir things, and there will be short stories.

I have an action packed monster-horror about vengeful squid on Freedom Fiction, and in 2026, there’ll be a ghost story about an eccentric old musician on the North Norfolk coast, , and a podcast reading of a story about a dead Tour De France cyclist having his revenge on a Middle Aged Man In Lycra..

I also post on Bluesky as @stubsackfiction.substack.com.

Technically, I’m also on Mastodon, though hilariously I have no (like, zero, 0, nil, zilch, none) followers.

And finally, Linktree.

Science communication

More traditional work involves science communications. The general gist is to help scientists communicate with non scientists better.
